The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
A craniosacral therapist uses light pressure at several key points on the body, head, knees and feet to both assess the health of a patient's craniosacral system and to make adjustments with the goal of improving the overall function of the central nervous system. These adjustments are gentle, non-invasive and safe.
Conditions that benefit from craniosacral therapy include:
- migraines
- chronic pain
- fibromyalgia
- chronic fatigue syndrome
- post-traumatic stress
- TMJ
- post-surgical recovery
